About Erin Gardner-Flores, LCSW

EMDR Therapist in Groton, Connecticut

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Groton, Connecticut with over 17 years of experience providing psychotherapy. My work focuses on helping adults process trauma at its root so they can move forward with more clarity, confidence, and stability.
My Approach to Trauma Work

Much of my clinical experience has been in community mental health and correctional settings, where I worked with individuals navigating complex trauma, systemic barriers, and layered clinical challenges. These experiences shaped how I understand trauma and reinforced my belief that meaningful change requires depth, not surface-level solutions.

Many of the clients I work with are thoughtful, motivated, and ready to understand the deeper patterns behind their experiences. My role is to provide a steady, grounded space where that work can happen in a focused and intentional way.

Outside of my clinical work, I value spending time with my family. I am a wife and a mom to two humans, along with our two cats and one doodle. I enjoy running, hiking, and glamping, and I am always up for a good cup of coffee.
EMDR Therapy and Advanced Training

My commitment to trauma work led me to pursue advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. I completed my EMDR training in 2019 and became an EMDRIA Certified Therapist in 2021.
Since then, I have seen how EMDR therapy can help clients process trauma, anxiety, anger, and self doubt in a way that creates lasting change. Rather than staying stuck in patterns from the past, clients are able to move forward with a greater sense of clarity and internal stability.

I continue to expand my work as an EMDRIA Approved Consultant in Training and Facilitator in Training under the guidance of Deany Laliotis, founder of The Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy. Ongoing learning is an important part of my work and allows me to provide thoughtful, effective, and up to date care.
A Focused and Intentional Process

My approach is steady, structured, and tailored to each client. Whether we are working in weekly EMDR therapy, extended sessions, or intensives, the goal is to help you understand what is underneath your experiences and work through it in a meaningful way.

This is not about quick fixes. It is about doing the work in a way that leads to real and lasting change.
