You’re Ready for Change.

You Want to Heal at the Root, Not Just Manage the Symptoms.

EMDR Therapy in Groton, Connecticut for Adults Ready to Heal from Trauma and Move Forward

You may feel stuck in patterns that do not make sense, overwhelmed by anxiety, or weighed down by experiences from the past. Even when life looks fine on the outside, something inside still feels unsettled. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, self-aware, and motivated for change. They are not looking for therapy forever. They are looking to understand what is underneath their struggles and work through it so they can move forward with more clarity, confidence, and ease.

I specialize in trauma therapy using EMDR and offer multiple therapy formats, including weekly EMDR therapy, extended sessions, and EMDR intensives in Groton, Connecticut.

Trauma Therapy for Adults:

Trauma, especially childhood or developmental trauma, can affect how you see yourself, how safe you feel in the world, and how you respond to stress, relationships, and daily life.

You may notice:

  • Difficulty trusting yourself

  • Anxiety or feeling on edge

  • Low self-worth or self-confidence

  • Feeling triggered or overwhelmed in certain situations

  • Feeling stuck in patterns you cannot change

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself or others

This work is not about quick fixes or surface-level solutions. It is about understanding the deeper reasons behind your experiences and working through them in a way that creates lasting change.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain and body process unresolved trauma and distress. Rather than only talking about the past, EMDR helps your nervous system reprocess experiences so they no longer feel as overwhelming, triggering, or stuck.

I offer EMDR therapy in several formats so we can choose the approach that best fits your goals, schedule, and the type of work you want to do.

EMDR Intensives

EMDR intensives are longer, focused therapy sessions designed to help you make meaningful progress in a shorter period of time. Intensives can be helpful if you want to work through a specific memory, move through trauma more efficiently, or prefer a more concentrated approach than weekly therapy.

These sessions allow us to go deeper into the work without the interruption of stopping and starting each week, and they can be especially helpful for individuals who are motivated and ready to focus on trauma work in a more structured way.

Ongoing EMDR Therapy

Ongoing EMDR therapy is offered in weekly or extended sessions and allows us to move through trauma at a steady, consistent pace. This format works well for clients who want regular support while processing past experiences, building internal resources, and creating lasting change over time.

Weekly and extended EMDR sessions provide structure, consistency, and support while doing deeper trauma work.

About Erin Gardner-Flores, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Connecticut with over 17 years of experience providing psychotherapy and have been practicing EMDR therapy since 2019. I am EMDRIA Certified and an EMDRIA Approved Consultant in Training.

My work focuses on helping adults understand and process trauma so they can move forward in their lives with more clarity, confidence, and stability.

Outside of my clinical work, I value spending time with my family. I am a wife and a mom to two humans, along with our two cats and one doodle. I enjoy running, hiking, and glamping, and I am always up for a good cup of coffee.

Healing from trauma is possible, and you do not have to do it alone.

If you are interested in EMDR therapy, EMDR intensives, or EMDR consultation, the first step is to schedule a consultation so we can talk about your goals and determine what type of EMDR work would be the best fit for you.
