Thoughtful, Trauma Informed Psychotherapy

I provide psychotherapy for adults in Groton, Connecticut who are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, motivated, and ready to better understand themselves and the patterns that are keeping them stuck.

Therapy is not just about talking through weekly stress. It is about understanding the deeper experiences that shaped how you see yourself, how you relate to others, and how you move through the world. Our work together will focus on helping you develop insight, process difficult experiences, and create meaningful and lasting change.
Much of my work focuses on trauma and trauma related concerns, and I often integrate EMDR therapy into the treatment process when appropriate.
Issues Addressed in Therapy
I work with adults experiencing a variety of concerns, including:

-
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Therapeutic Approaches
My work is trauma-informed and tailored to each individual. I draw from several therapeutic approaches depending on your goals and needs.

These may include:

-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
-
Development of coping and regulation skills
-
Communication and relationship skills
-
Insight-oriented therapy
-
Trauma-informed therapy

EMDR therapy is a primary focus of my practice and is often used when clients are working through trauma, anxiety, and past experiences that continue to affect their present life.
Trauma and EMDR Therapy

If much of what you are struggling with is connected to past experiences, trauma, anxiety, or feeling stuck in patterns you cannot change, EMDR therapy may be an important part of the work we do together.

You can learn more about EMDR therapy, EMDR intensives, and treatment options on the EMDR Therapy page.
